‘Once Upon A Time’ Finds Its’ Sleeping Beauty and Mulan, Comic-Con Poster (UPDATE: Sinqua Walls, Julian Morris Cast)
[UPDATE #2] Sinqua Walls has joined Once Upon A Time as “Sir Lancelot” described as “sword for hire with nothing to lose” and Julian Morris as Prince Philip “described as a young, skilled fighter and someone who is a selfless hero.”
[UPDATE #1] Picking up the pace, OUAT has cast Jorge Garcia (LOST, Alcatraz) in an unspecified role and will join in a recurring capacity with other former LOST actors Emilie de Ravin and Alan Dale.
[Original] A fable-fantasy series like Once Upon A Time seems better suited for film, but creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (writers and producers behind LOST and TRON: Legacy) have created a TV series that plays to just about everyone. Becoming the newest and biggest hit show on broadcast television, OUAT is looking to add two fabled characters Mulan and Sleeping Beauty in recurring roles.
Jamie Chung (Hangover 2) will play Chinese warrior princess Mulan who “has a spirituality that enhances her tactical and strategic abilities. She has suffered past betrayals, so her trust is hard-won, but once she gives her oath of friendship her loyalty knows no boundaries.” Also, “when she falls in love, she falls hard.”
Sarah Bolger (The Tudors) Princess Aurora of Sleeping Beauty fame, where the princess “fell a deep sleep after pricking her finger on Maleficent’s spinning wheel. Later, she was revived by the kiss of a handsome prince. Maleficent was introduced in the first season of the ABC drama, played by Kristin Bauer van Straten.” OUAT describes Aurora as a “spoiled girl from a privileged background who’s willing to sacrifice everything for love.”
