Kathy Bates to Amp up American Horror Story: Season 3

I have loved Kathy Bates ever since she hobbled James Caan in Misery. And one of the things I love about Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story is that he, his cast, crew and writers are always mixing it up. It makes the show highly watchable and super enjoyable.

So the latest news from Bloody Disgusting and TVLine that Kathy Bates is coming on board season 3 is utterly delightful. Kathy will play the frenemy to Jessica Lange’s older sexy coo coo bird. They start out as best friends and then… well, it’s going to get real, ya’ll. Two Oscar winners, a bag of wigs and crazy time.

TV Horror Castings: ‘Hannibal’ & ‘American Horror Story’

It truly is a new era of television, where the horror genre was at once shied away from the tube and now it’s the talk of the town. American Horror Story has been renewed for a third season, bringing back Jessica Lange for another sure to be enthralling character. Bryan Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane may have aired its aborted pilot this past Halloween, but his other NBC series, Hannibal has cast Eddie Izzard, Anna Chlumsky and Raul Esparza.

[UPDATE] May 7, 2012 – In what may be the best cure to “monday blues”, James Cromwell has been cast for a 10-episode arc on FX series American Horror Story from creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Set in an East Coast psychiatric ward, Cromwell play Dr. Arden, “the foil to Lange’s character, who is his boss at the facility.” Welcome to insanity, stay a while.
