‘Bourne’ Franchise to Return with Jeremy Renner

Posted at August 6, 2013 by

After Matt Damon failed to express interest in returning as Jason Bourne, Universal Pictures has opted to bring back Jeremy Renner for a fifth installment in the Bourne series.

Anthony Peckham has been hired to write the screenplay for the follow-up to The Bourne Legacy, which saw agent Aaron Cross, played by Renner, on the run from the same secret operatives who had been on Jason Bourne’s trail in the previous three films.

Posted at March 11, 2013 by

If you’re a fan of either Steven Spielberg or Stanley Kubrick, I’m sure the news this past wouldn’t have passed by your screen at least once. The Steven Spielberg is sticking his hands back into the Kubrickian well to hopefully bring Napoleon to the small screen as a mini-series. The project is likely to be produced and broadcast on HBO, because honestly, who else would green-light the project anyways? And as our mantra goes, we’ve got some casting suggestions for you to entertain.

Jeremy Renner Takes On Tragic Tale Of Smeared Journalist Gary Webb In ‘Kill The Messenger’

Posted at February 5, 2013 by

Naturally, after Hansel &  Gretel: Witch Hunters, fans of Jeremy Renner must be on the edge of their seats waiting to see which classic-tale-with-a-new-twist he picks up next. Unfortunately, Kill The Messengers has no fairy tale witches to blow up, only the tragic real-life tale of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Gary Webb who exposed the CIA’s assist of Contra rebels smuggling crack cocaine into California in order to fund their war in Nicaragua. So, you know… take it as you will.

Louis C.K. Joins David O. Russell’s Untitled Abscam Drama Starring Christian Bale & Amy Adams

I was pretty late in joining the Louie laugh-riot, but I’ve come around even though those stand-up bits don’t always work for me. I prefer Louis C.K. playing up his fictional version self as Louie C.K., but the actor is joining a different kind of project. A period drama to be precise in David O. Russell’s Untitled Abscam Drama (formerly known as American Bullshit) that’s starring Christian Bale and Amy Adams.

More character details after the jump.

Watch Renner and Arterton battle some grisly-looking witches with ultra-cool guns and a whole lot of attitude after the jump.

Jeremy Renner Takes On Julian Assange in ‘Wikileaks’ Movie, Bill Condon Possibly Directing

Posted at July 25, 2012 by

Although he seems quite busy occupying three franchises at once (Avengers, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Bourne Legacy), Jeremy Renner still has time for other projects, including (reportedly) a Wikileaks movie to be produced by Dreamworks. Renner may be in negotiations to portray the incredibly controversial head of Wikileaks, Julian Assange.

Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper & Amy Adams Join David O. Russell’s ‘American Bullshit’

Posted at July 19, 2012 by

I must admit, I wasn’t that moved by David O. Russell’s The Fighter. It had nothing to do with the directing or actors, the story had that by the numbers redemption/collapse mirror-image arc that so many films do. What’s intriguing is how Russell’s American Bullshit will once again team up with Amy Adams (a highlight from the boxing film) and with Jeremy Renner in negotiations to take over the role previously intended for Christian Bale, who also collaborated with the director on the same film, as well as Bradley Cooper.
