Just two months ago, Chris Hemsworth had been cast in Michael Mann’s cyber-crime thriller, Cyber (working title) in the lead role. Now comes word that Viola Davis will also be starring in the film and that production is set to begin next month in China. I don’t know about you, but those three elements together sparks my immediate intrigue.

I’m sure everyone will agree that Michael Mann is a great director. Look at Collateral, directing the series premiere of the ill-fated HBO horse-racing drama Luck and from way back with Heat. Maybe Public Enemies wasn’t so great, but it still had some great moments. Now the director will be paired with Thor star, Chris Hemsworth.

Yes indeed, Kristen Stewart has signed on to the Snow White & the Huntsman sequel in a move that surprised, well, no one. After that whole sordid affair with her Snow White & the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, it’s clear that the studio has sided with Kristen, considering that she’s a liittle more bankable than Sanders, (and she better be — she was the highest paid actress of 2012). All that’s left to do is ruminate on a new director and whether or not Chris Hemsworth feels like returning to the franchise.

It’s been a while since we last heard of Ron Howard’s racing drama Rush, starring Chris Hemsworth (seen last week in the trailer for the long-delayed Red Dawn) as James Hunt, “a world champion Formula One racer whose lifestyle choices made him a direct rival of another world champion racer, Niki Lauda” and Daniel Bruhl (Goodbye Lenin, Inglorious Basterds). Steven Spielberg reportedly wants Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor, aka “The Huntsman”) to star in his new film Robopocalypse, a “fasted-paced sci-fi thriller” about a future global war between man and machine. The film is based on the novel of the same name from author Daniel H. Wilson, a robotics expert. Hemsworth’s cause is reportedly being championed by Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), who will be adapting Wilson’s novel.
