Here’s an unlikely on-screen duo: Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz. The actresses have been signed on for the mystery novel adaptation of Dark Places, from author Gillian Flynn. The film will be directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner who also wrote the screenplay. Charlize Theron is co-producing the film through her Denver and Delilah Productions.

Amanda Seyfried Finds ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ for Seth MacFarlane

When remake news like this comes up, I get one of two ways: terribly excited and/or nostalgic for the original film. As Hollywood seems to be struggling for captivating (and critically successful) content, remakes of Asian films seem to be all the rage, more so than with J-Horror. Although, Charlize Theron in a remake of Park Chan-wook’s Sympathy For Lady Vengeance sounds fantastic.

The obsessions in making every possible film into a trilogy is really starting to get on my nerves. Hollywood is looking at the long-term possibilities and yet they (mostly) fail to make sure that “first entry” is a single, good entry. It’s no surprise that Max Max: Fury Road is being eyed as a possible trilogy with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. The film has also recently added Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon).

First playing the evil queen Ravenna in Snow White and the Huntsman, to then jump into the existential Alien quasi-prequel Prometheus and will soon be shooting Max Mad: Fury Road.
