‘Vamps’ Trailer Brings Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter & Sigourney Weaver Together
What do you do with a fantastic cast in lead and supporting roles, a director that should be getting more credit and an okay premise? You get Vamps, a sort light-hearted comedy about two girls (Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter) trying to live in New York City and one who falls in love. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Check out the trailer and very 90s poster (on purpose of course) after the jump.
Krysten Ritter looks like a scene-stealer, as she does with her ABC comedy series Don’t Trust The B- in Apartment 23. She’s the “B-” part of the show, hilariously so.
Directed and written by Amy Heckerling (Clueless), here’s the synopsis for Vamps:
Goody (Alicia Silverstone) and Stacy (Krysten Ritter) are addicted to the night life, clubbing, hooking up and always looking for the next thrill, all the while keeping a big a secret-they happen to be modern-day vampires. But even with lifetimes of dating experience behind them, the duo realizes they still have a lot to learn about love when Stacy unexpectedly falls for the son of a vampire hunter, and Goody runs into the man of her dreams from decades earlier.
With their destinies at stake, the girls are faced with a difficult choice; give up their eternal youth for a chance at love, or continue to live their uncomplicated fabulously single lives forever.
In addition to the two stars and Sigourney Weaver, the film also stars Malcolm McDowell, Richard Lewis, Wallace Shawn and Marilu Henner. The film premieres on VOD October 19, 2012; a limited theatrical release November 2 and then comes to Blu-ray/DVD on November 13, 2012.
