New Trailer for Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde’s ‘Deadfall’
A new trailer has arrived for Deadfall, a thriller starring Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde, along with an impressive list of supporters; including Charlie Hunham (Sons of Anarchy), Sissy Spacek (the original Carrie), Kris Kristofferson (Blade), and Kate Mara (127 Hours). Bana and Wilde are siblings on the run from a heist gone wrong, trying to make it across the border in the middle of a white-out blizzard. Clearly, calamity ensues.
Deadfall is directed by Stefan Ruzowitsky (The Counterfeiters), who doesn’t carry the most impressive portfolio, and is written by newcomer Zach Dean. This definitely looks like a situation where the studio is putting faith in the cast to carry the shaky production team behind the camera. With a $12 million budget, the film balances that fine line between a quick flop or a slow-burning success.
Synopsis: Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances – a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.
