[UPDATE] Check out some new banner posters for Pitch Perfect with an awesome tagline: ”get pitch slapped.” See them after the jump.
[Original] Female comedies are all the rage nowadays, with most of it being really entertaining. Last year’s surprise hit Bridesmaids has spawned new films and they result in the form of For A Good Time, Call… that stars Ari Graynor, Lauren Miller and Justin Long; and Pitch Perfect with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Elizabeth Banks. Check out their new trailer, poster and some photos after the jump.
Let’s get the red-band trailer for the phone sex comedy For A Good Time, Call… which premiered at Sundance to rave reviews with an R-rating.

Here’s the synopsis:
The reserved Lauren (played by Lauren Anne Miller) and the irrepressible Katie (Ari Graynor) are polar opposites… and past enemies. But when both come up short on the funds needed to afford their dream New York City apartment a mutual friend (Justin Long) re-introduces them and they reluctantly agree to room together. These apartment-mates have nothing in common – until Lauren discovers that Katie is working as a phone-sex operator, and recognizes a good business opportunity. But as their business partnership takes off, their newfound friendship finds unexpected challenges that may leave them both, as they say, hanging on the telephone.
For A Good Time, Call… opens in limited release August 31, 2012 and then in wide release September 7, 2012.
Now let’s check out the musical comedy Pitch Perfect that has a (pardon the pun) pitch perfect cast in Kendrick, Wilson and Banks.
Here a synopsis of the film and some photos:
Beca (Anna Kendrick) is that girl who’d rather listen to what’s coming out of her headphones than what’s coming out of you. Arriving at her new college, she finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together, in the new out-loud comedy Pitch Perfect.
When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college a cappella. This could wind up either the coolest thing they’ll ever do or the most insane, and it will probably be a little of both.
Loaded with new takes on old favorites to hits of right now that are seamlessly mixed together, mashed-up and arranged like you’ve never heard before, Pitch Perfect is directed by Jason Moore, who opened our eyes to the very misbehaved life of puppets in the surprise Broadway sensation Avenue Q.
