Brad Pitt Is ‘Killing Them Softly’ In First Trailer of Andrew Dominik’s Film
[UPDATE #2] Well this is just a shame, the new poster for Killing Them Softly is overly busy for no good reason. We all falter sometimes. See the poster after the jump.
[UPDATE #1] Check out the new poster for Dominik’s Killing Them Softly, featuring Brad Pitt and some very bold typefont.
[Original] Very little has come up since Killing Them Softly‘s premiere at Cannes earlier this year. Reviews were quite favorable for director Andrew Dominik’s first film since 2007′s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which also starred Pitt and earned co-star Casey Affleck a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. See the full trailer after the jump.
Stylish, moody and starring a (somewhat) sleazy version of Pitt… whats not to like? The clips we’ve seen so far suggest a slower pace, certainly closer to Dominik’s last film, which is fine but probably won’t appeal to mainstream audiences (note: TAOJJBTCRF grossed a painful 3.9M domestic).
Scoot McNairy, who you might have caught in indie hits Monsters and In Search of a Midnight Kiss, seems poised to finally breakout with a major part to play in KTS. He’ll follow-up this film with Argo later this year, has a role in Gus Van Sant’s upcoming Promised Land, co-scripted and starring Matt Damon, and is shooting Steve McQueen’s Twelve Years A Slave.
Catch the rest of this cast, including Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard, when Killing Them Softly hits North American cinemas on October 19th, 2012.
