Sam Heughan Will Star in Starz’s ‘Outlander’

Posted at July 10, 2013 by

Fans of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander should rejoice. They have found Jamie Fraser. Sam Heughan will slip on his kilt and back into the 1700s of Scotland to play the dashing lead in the story of a young woman who falls through a time hole (ahem) where women are possessions. I’m not talking about Texas. This is old timey Scotland where the men are hairy and grabby and like their women on their backs. Again, not Texas.

Starz prematurely tweeted last week that Sam Heughan was going to be the male lead in the dramatic series. Oh, silly Starz. Keep it in your pants, will ya. So the cat’s out of the bagpipe but Outlander fans couldn’t be happier. Cause like have you seen Heughan? Look at that sickening mug up there. He is so not ugly.

Sad Song: A Lot of ‘Glee’ Cast Not Making Next Season’s Cut

Posted at July 4, 2013 by

What?! They aren’t bringing back some of the 30-year olds from the Glee cast next season?!! I know. Me neither. Turns out, seasoned vet Jane Lynch feels the same way. “That’s the nature of portraying a realistic view of high school (um, yeah): Kids graduate. They move on,” Lynch says.

They also burst into mash-ups complete with cameos from totally real people such as Gwyneth Paltrow and John Stamos. My band teacher looked like Ichabod Crane eating a Moon Pie through a broken screen door but alrighty then.

I watched season 1 of the Ryan Murphy-created musical take on the caste system that is high school this one time when I was high on cough syrup. It was enchanting until I sobered up.
