Alison Brie and Nick Offerman Take Bong Hits For ‘Somebody Up There Likes Me’
Nick Offerman, known for his unflinchingly hilarious role as Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, has a new film coming out, Somebody Out There Likes Me, and he needs to promote it. So what does he do? Obviously take bong hits with his wife Megan Mullally (also in the film), and the beautiful Alison Brie (not in the film), on camera while talking about the movie.
Somebody Up There Likes Me, produced by Offerman himself (and directed and written by independent filmmaker Bob Byington), is about “a guy who doesn’t grow up. In fact, he doesn’t even age over the film’s span of about three decades in his life. It may have something to do with a mysterious briefcase, the origins of which are only ever suggested by animated cloud interludes and the ethereal implications of the title itself. But that hardly matters, so long as Max (Keith Poulson) keeps bumbling through marriage, money and mortality.” It was picked up for distribution by Tribeca films, for an as-yet unknown release date in 2013, in both theatres and VOD.
The confusing part is how Alison Brie got involved, not that anyone should be complaining. Megan Mullally is Nick Offerman’s real-life wife (and also plays his crazy ex-wife Tammy Two in Parks and Recreation), plus she’s actually in the film, but Brie?
Regardless, the video is a gem and alone should justify seeing Somebody Up There Likes Me (aside from supporting independent filmmakers of course). Plus I’m sure those bong hits really helped Offerman get over his Emmy-snub.
