In the never-ending wave of nostalgic remakes, the new Robocop is moving forward with production after casting Gary Oldman as Norton, the scientist who creates Robocop after bringing fatally-wounded police officer Alex Murphy back to life as the titular crime-busting cyborg-supercop. This latest casting comes on the heels of Oldman’s recent crowning as the highest-grossing film actor of all time, which makes sense considering he has both the Harry Potter and recent Batman franchises under his belt. Amazingly, Oldman managed to beat out other stars such as Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers, Star Wars) and Tom Hanks (Toy Story, a thousand other absolutely amazing movies).

Well if this is the possible cast for director Adam Shankman’s This Is Where I Leave You, then count me in. The group in question includes Jason Bateman, Zac Efron, Goldie Hawn and Leslie Man. as “family members who return home to sit shiva for their father. Locked in a house for seven days, they air a lot of dirty laundry.” Malin Ackerman and Jason Sudeikis are in negotations as well.

Something about this combination sounds really intriguing. Ron Howard is directed a Formula One, titled Rush with Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers) and Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds). Hemsworth plays James Hunt, “a world champion Formula One racer whose lifestyle choices made him a direct rival of another world champion racer, Niki Lauda.” See the fantastic featurette after the jump.

[UPDATE #3] It’s been a while since we last had any news on the Blade Runner sequel and now we have Ridley Scott speaking with The Independent, that he wants Harrison Ford in some capacity: “I don’t think it’ll be Harry [starring], but I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing.” Also, original screenwriter Hampton Fancher is already on board with the film.

There’s always a movie or two that pervades the air whenenver a film festival wraps up. The honor this time goes to Leos Carax’s Holy Motors from the 65th Cannes Film Festival. Attaining buzz, this is Carax’s first feature since 1999′s Pola X. The film stars Eva Mendes, Kylie Minogue, Edith Scob and Michel Piccoli. The film has picked up distribution rights and is accompanied by a enthralling trailer. See it after the jump.
