Recent news revealed that Rainn Wilson will be headlining a “Dwight Schrute Spin-Off”, while exec-producer and scene stealer Mindy Kaling (Customer Service Representative Kelly Kapoor) will be headlining and running a comedy pilot at FOX.

Nicholas Cage Wants To Be Ghost in Japan for ‘Wicker Man’ Sequel

CHECK IT OUT

Posted at January 30, 2012 by

Look, Nicolas Cage is known for some really great movie performances (Adaptation, Raising Arizona) and some not so good (National Treasure, Face/Off).  What I will give him is props for making terrible ideas look great on paper and in their trailers. His latest idea, becoming a ghost in a Wicker Man sequel, set in Japan no less.

In an interview with Empire Online, Cage was asked which character he would like to revisit and gave one of the most perplexing and hypnotic answers:

It seems like every other day there’s some singer/musician making their transition to acting. Today, that pedestal belongs to Billie Joe Armstrong, and he’s heading to Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. Acting opposite of the ridiculously talented Edie Falco, Armstrong is coming off a run on American Idiot.

‘Hugo’ Nabs Most Noms: Fassbender, Dunst & Gosling Snubbed

CHECK IT OUT

Once again the Oscar nominations were a mixed bag, this time handing the most (11) to HUGO. Missing are Kirsten Dunst in the Best Actress Category for her work in Melancholia, although that did feature the unexpected (yet deserving) inclusion of Rooney Mara for Tattoo. Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender, were both absent with a nom in the Best Actor Category, although considering that each gave fantastic performances in several features last year, the vote was diluted. Shame, Drive, the list goes on and on. Which nominations were you happy to see, upset to see missing?

Commemorating Heath Ledger

Hard to believe that its already been 4 years since actor Heath Ledger passed away during a production break on Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. To this day, and for the foreseeable future, what is painful to acknowledge is the amazing performances Ledger has left us with in such a short career and what could’ve been. Today I celebrate his legacy with these choice performances.

Judd Apatow Picks Lead in his Biopic (If There Was One)

CHECK IT OUT

Judd Apatow was nice enough to answer our question, “Who would play Judd in a movie about Judd Apatow?”.  His answer; “Bull From Night Court”. We kind of see the resemblance (see above) but the age difference clearly wouldn’t make this believable.  The Offices’ Mindy Kaling had some choice words, “Don’t be weird. Obviously, Ben Stiller”. Obviously better.

Joss Whedon’s ‘In Your Eyes’ Casts Abigail Spencer

CHECK IT OUT

Posted at January 17, 2012 by

Seeing that Joss Whedon has neared the end of The Avengers (which comes out this May), he’s lined up a slew of new projects which Much Ado About Nothing and now In Your Eyes, which has also cast Abigail Spencer. I have to admit this outright, I’m a devoted fan of Joss Whedon. Whether it’s Buffy, the Vampire Slayer or even Dollhouse, I love it all. This strange cult-ish devotion makes me worried and highly preachy of his oeuvre.
